Privacy Policy

UPT Ready ("we," "us") helps households prepare for emergencies. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. The short version: your preparedness data is yours, we collect only what the app needs to work, and we never sell your personal information.

Information we collect

• Account information. When you create an account: your email address, a display name, and optional profile details you choose to add (callsign, region, household size, profile photo).
• Content you create. Supply inventories, notes, journal entries, calendar items, drill results, posts, comments, and messages you write in the app. Community posts are visible to other users according to the audience you select (Public, Just Friends, or Private).
• Payment information. Paid memberships are processed by Stripe. Your card number goes directly to Stripe and never touches our servers; we receive only your subscription status and the email used at checkout.
• Notifications. If you enable push notifications, we store the technical token needed to deliver them. You can disable notifications at any time in your device settings.
• Technical basics. Standard server logs (such as IP address and browser type) generated when any website is accessed, used for security and reliability.

We do not collect precise location, contacts, or advertising identifiers, and we do not use third-party advertising or cross-site tracking.

How we use information

• To provide the service: syncing your data across devices, calculating your readiness score, powering community features you choose to use.
• To operate memberships: matching your subscription to your account and unlocking member features.
• To send notifications you have enabled (such as community activity or expiration reminders).
• To keep the service secure and troubleshoot problems.

If you use the optional AI assistant ("Reddy"), the content you submit to it is processed by our AI service provider to generate the response. We do not use your content to train AI models.

Local-Only Mode

UPT Ready offers a Local-Only Mode in Privacy settings. When enabled, your preparedness data stays on your device and is not synced to our servers. Community features that require an account will be limited while this mode is on.

How information is shared

We do not sell or rent personal information. We share it only with:

• Service providers that run the product on our behalf: Supabase (database and authentication), Cloudflare (hosting and delivery), Stripe (payments), and our AI and notification providers. Each receives only what is needed for its function.
• Other users, only for content you deliberately share (public posts, profile details, messages to friends).
• Legal requirements, if we are required to by law or to protect the safety of users.

Data retention and deletion

Your data is kept while your account is active. You can delete individual content anytime in the app, wipe local data from Privacy settings, and request full account deletion at uptready.com/delete-account.html — we will delete your account data within 30 days, except records we must retain (such as payment records held by Stripe).

Security

Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS), stored with a reputable cloud provider using row-level access controls, and payment card data is handled entirely by Stripe, a PCI-DSS certified processor. No system is perfectly secure, but we design so that a problem in one place does not expose everything.

Children

UPT Ready is intended for adults managing household preparedness and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13; if you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

Your choices

• Edit or remove your profile details and content in the app at any time.
• Choose the audience for every post you make.
• Use Local-Only Mode to keep data off our servers.
• Turn notifications off in your device or browser settings.
• Unfollow any account — including UPT Ready Team accounts — to remove it from your feed.
• Request a copy or deletion of your data by email.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes, we will update the effective date above and note the change in the app. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated policy.
